The teaser begins with a Scully voice-over, describing the changes our earth has gone through over this vast amount of time, and of five mass extinctions.  Beautifully written, beautifully spoken.  Then we are taken to the Ivory Coast of West Africa where a group of men have found a strange looking piece of metal with writing on it.

The man who found these pieces has brought them to a University back in the states.  The man who he was to meet with murders him and M&S are on the case (naturally.)  When Mulder sees the rubbing from the pieces strange noises start to bother him.
